Keld Mining open-pit gold mine operations

Our Operations

Two Countries. One Standard.

Keld Mining operates across two of Africa's most productive gold belts — applying institutional-grade processes and governance at every site, regardless of scale.

From flagship open-pit production in Zimbabwe to early-stage greenfield exploration in Ghana's Ashanti Belt, our portfolio spans the full mining lifecycle. Each operation is managed to the same environmental, safety, and governance standards — ensuring consistent performance and investor confidence across the board.

Open-Pit Mining

Our flagship operation sits within Zimbabwe's Midlands Greenstone Belt — one of southern Africa's most prolific gold-producing regions, with a history of production stretching back over a century. The Keld Zimbabwe mine operates two open pits with a combined processing capacity of 2.8 million tonnes per annum.

Methods

  • Open-pit drill and blast
  • Carbon-in-leach (CIL) processing
  • Tailings storage facility with lined impoundment
  • On-site assay laboratory

Ghana

Ashanti Gold Belt

Early Stage

Greenfield Exploration

Newly acquired concessions in Ghana's Ashanti Gold Belt — one of the world's most historically productive gold regions, responsible for over 50 million ounces of historical production. Keld Ghana is conducting its first systematic geochemical and geophysical survey programme across a 340 km² licence area.

Methods

  • Airborne geophysical survey
  • Soil geochemical sampling
  • Structural geological mapping
  • Target generation and prioritisation

Greenfield Exploration

Ghana (Ashanti Gold Belt)

Target generation, geochemical sampling, and first drill hole programme across the 340 km² licence area.

02

Resource Definition

Ghana (Ashanti — to follow)

Infill drilling to upgrade inferred resources to indicated category ahead of feasibility studies.

03

Pre-Feasibility / Feasibility

Ghana (Ashanti — to follow)

Engineering studies, permitting, and construction decision targeting production by 2030.

Active Production

Zimbabwe (Midlands)

Steady-state production, ongoing reserve replacement drilling and pit optimisation.

Extraction Methods

Fit-for-Purpose. Rigorously Applied.

Keld Mining selects extraction methods based on the specific geology, scale, and community context of each operation — not a one-size-fits-all approach. Every method is subject to the same environmental and safety standards.

Open-Pit Mining

Used at our Zimbabwe flagship. Drill-and-blast followed by load-and-haul to a centralised CIL processing plant. Designed for large, near-surface, low-grade deposits.

Carbon-in-Leach (CIL)

Gold recovery via cyanide leaching and activated carbon adsorption. Industry-standard process delivering high recovery rates with a contained reagent circuit.

Exploration Drilling

Diamond core and RC drilling programmes will define and extend resources at our Ghana greenfield asset. All drill core is logged, sampled, and stored on-site.

Reserve Replacement

Ongoing near-mine exploration at Zimbabwe ensures the resource base keeps pace with production — extending mine life and protecting long-term asset value.
